WE SHINE, the WBN’s premiere professional development event for businesswomen in the Wheatbelt has been announced with an incredible line-up of speakers, panel members and facilitators. This year’s conference, to be held at the newly completed Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre on Friday 25th of October is set to be the biggest one yet.

The keynote speakers for this year’s event are 2 incredibly accomplished women in their fields who will share their journey and experiences in creating successful businesses.

Jo Palmer from NSW, who while working remotely as sponsorship manager for a Sydney-based corporation, got the motivation to co-found the sponsorship and event management company, Agri Alliance, which has operated in the agricultural industry since 2016.  Since then she has co-founded Pointer Remote Roles which started in 2017 and is now the one-stop shop for candidates to find remote work, and a hub for employers and recruiters to find the best person for a role, regardless of where they live.

The second keynote is Helen Marshall, founder and creator of Primal Alternative – a franchise of home-based women who create an incredible range of grain-free breads, cookies and pizza bases. Helen, who is from Denmark WA, started her grain-free baking franchise 3 years ago which in just a short timeframe has grown to over 120 “Primalistas” (Franchisees) Australia-wide, along with recent expansion into the USA and UK. She has collaborated with celebrity chefs Pete Evans and Jo Whitton from Quirky Cooking to expand her range which is now stocked in health shops and supermarkets throughout Australia.

The focus for this year’s event is hands-on, with participants working on their business with a practical focus to solve a problem or learn a new skill. The afternoon will see the participants break into small workshops of varying topics to do practical work on their business planning and/or operation. Topics will vary from starting strategic planning, developing a successful loan application, through to digital marketing using social media and Tourism 101! There is something for everyone! And of course plenty of opportunity to network throughout the day.

Tickets go on sale on September 10.
